FDR and Harlem River Drives, New York, NY

Client: NYS Department of Transportation

EWF performed 14 miles of topographic surveys and provided engineering services for the rehabilitation of drainage facilities, utilities and the addition of safety improvements to the FDR and Harlem River drives in New York City. Project involved mapping these expressways for the design of the structural and geometrical improvements. Topographic maps, derived from the aerial photography and additional supplementary surveys of tunnels and viaducts via cross-sectioning and radial sideshot method, enabled design engineers to identify existing utilities, ROW boundaries and support structures and accurately plan and design necessary improvements.

Merritt Road Reconstruction, USMA, West Point, NY

Client: United States Military Academy

EWF, as prime consultant, provided engineering design services for the preparation of contract documents for the reconstruction of Merritt Road within United States Military Academy at West Point, New York. The work included: geometric design, pavement design, storm drainage, new utility lines, utility relocation, retaining walls, street lighting, maintenance and protection of traffic, signage and pavement markings.

Major Deegan Expressway, Bronx, NY

Client: NYS Department of Transportation

EWF provided various survey related services in connection with searching and preparation of Abstract Request Maps (ARM) and Right-of-Way maps (ROW) and 200 Acquisition maps for the entire length of the Major Deegan Expressway.

Rehabilitation of Lefferts Boulevard South, JFL International Airport, NY

Client: Port Authority of New York & New Jersey

EWF provided Engineering Design services for the preparation of the contract documents for the reconstruction of Lefferts Boulevard South, within the John F. Kennedy International Airport area. The work included geometric design, pavement design, storm drainage, new utility lines, utility relocation, retaining walls, street lighting, etc.

Castleton Avenue, Staten Island, NY

Client: NYC Economic Development Corporation

EWF provided planning, design and engineering services in connection with New York City Economic Development Corporation’s improvements to pedestrian environment along Castleton Avenue in Staten Island, New York. The work included curb and sidewalk reconstruction, relocation and/or resetting of utility appurtenances, installation of pedestrian amenities such as special surface treatments, special signs and decorative street lighting and other miscellaneous site work.
